iBeepPeep is een nieuwe generatie social media, beter gezegd "manic media". Stel je voor, je bent een fotograaf met een passie voor exotische vogels. Opeens is er een bijzondere soort in jouw buurt en ben je de gelukkige die deze kan vangen op zijn memory kaart. Na een tijdje ben je klaar en wil je deze ontdekking delen met vrienden en andere onbekende vogelliefhebbers. Verstuur nu een bericht met iBeepPeep. Alle andere fotografie en vogelspotters zullen dit bericht ontvangen.... allemaal??? Uiteraard niet, alleen personen in jouw buurt die de juiste afstand hebben ingesteld. Het heeft geen zin om iemand in de VS te melden dat je een leuke vogel ziet in je achtertuin, terwijl jij in Nederland woont. Hij of zij is misschien te laat om de vogel te zien. De situatie kan ook worden vertaald naar vissen, storm watching, nieuwsfotografen etc. In feite zou je een bericht kunnen sturen naar iemand in jouw buurt om samen een biertje te drinken of een snack te eten. Aan de andere kant kunnen ook bijvoorbeeld toeristenbureaus berichten sturen over activiteiten in de komende uren rond hun locatie. Alles wat je moet doen is je in de groep melden en wachten... iBeepPeep is actief op de achtergrond en ontvangt berichten uit eventueel meerdere groepen. Je kunt accu lading sparen als je je (bijna) niet beweegt. In het geval van nood kun je een bericht sturen aan iedereen in je nabijheid, onafhankelijk van de groep. iBeepPeep is a new generation of social media, you could call it maniac media.Maniac should be read in a positive way. How ? We will explain.... Suppose you are a photographer with a passion for exotic birds. Sometimes a special species is in your area and you are the lucky one to catch it on your memory-card. After a while you are willing to share this discovery with your friends and other unknown bird-watchers. Now send a message with iBeepPeep. All other bird and photography enthusiasts are receiving your message.... all??? Of course not, only persons that are close to your location and are in the range they configured. It has no use to tell someone living in the US that a nice bird is in your backyard, while your are living in the Netherlands. He or she might be to late to see it by themselves. The situation could be adapted also to fishing, storm chasing, news photographers etcetera. In fact you could also send a message to everyone around to find someone to share a beer or some fast-food. On the other side also organizations like tourist agencies can send a message about activities that will occur in their neighbourhood in the hours to come. Just join the group, adjust your range and wait... iBeepPeep will be running in the background and get messages if you want to, you can join multiple groups, you can save battery power if you are almost stationary. In the case of an emergency, you can broadcast through every group to call for help.
